Dummy Filling

Ensuring an even density for a certain layer, or the entire layout is an important step in tapeout preparation.

To achieve this, dummy filling can be employed. On the layout, the given Filler will be placed in empty spaces to achieve the given density, for all or selected layers. An optional buffer can be added arround the shapes, to comply with foundry’s DRC deck.

This functionality is available for IPKISS LayoutViews and GDSII files.

dummy_fill_layout	Applies a dummy fill to a layout based on filler spefications.
dummy_fill_gdsii	Applies a rectangular dummy fill to a gds file to achieve a specified local density.
Filler	Configuration container for a specific dummy fill strategy.
dummy_fill_layout_box	Applies a rectangular dummy fill to a layout to achieve a specified local density.
dummy_fill_gdsii_box	Applies a rectangular dummy fill to a gds file to achieve a specified local density.
